As a Cook at Kaayoo, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every dish that comes out of the kitchen meets our high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. You’ll be part of a kitchen team that values teamwork, cleanliness, and dedication to excellent Filipino food.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook Filipino dishes according to standard recipes and menu guidelines
- Assist in food preparation activities such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure food is cooked and plated properly and consistently for dine-in and takeout
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen at all times in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage cooking stations, equipment, and supplies efficiently
- Monitor inventory levels and inform kitchen supervisor of low-stock items
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times
- Work collaboratively with kitchen team and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Cook or Kitchen Supervisor
- High school graduate or equivalent; culinary training is a plus
- At least 1 year of experience as a cook or kitchen staff (Filipino cuisine preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
- Good knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Passionate about Filipino food and committed to quality service
