Treasury Manager

The Finance Manager – Treasury is responsible for the overall management of the organization's treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, fund disbursement, collections coordination, bank reconciliations, and

financial risk management. The position ensures that adequate liquidity is maintained to support daily operations while optimizing the organization's cash resources and minimizing financial risks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Treasury & Cash Management

• Leads the overall treasury function and ensures effective management of the
• organization's cash resources.
• Maintains adequate liquidity to support operational, payroll, supplier, and other financial obligations.
• Monitors daily cash positions and ensures appropriate availability of funds
• across bank accounts and business units.
• Establishes and maintains cash management policies, procedures, and controls.
• Optimizes cash utilization while maintaining appropriate liquidity levels.
• Reviews and approves treasury transactions within authorized limits.

Cash Flow Management & Forecasting

• Prepares and maintains short and long-term cash flow forecasts.
• Monitors actual cash flows against forecasts and analyzes significant variances.
• Identifies potential cash shortages or excess liquidity and recommends appropriate actions.
• Coordinates with Finance and Operations to ensure timely funding of operational requirements.
• Provides management with regular cash flow and liquidity reports.

Banking Relationship Management

• Develops and maintains strong relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
• Negotiates and coordinates banking services, account facilities, transaction fees, and other banking arrangements.
• Evaluates banking products and services to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost savings.
• Oversees the opening, maintenance, modification, and closure of company bank accounts.
• Ensures proper authorization and control over bank signatories and access.Coordinates with banks regarding payment processing, account concerns, bank requirements, and other banking matters.

Disbursement & Payment Management

• Oversees the timely and accurate processing of company payments and fund transfers.
• Ensures payments are supported by complete documentation and appropriate approvals.
• Monitors scheduled payments for suppliers, employees, government obligations, loans, and other legitimate company expenses.
• Ensures adherence to payment policies, approval matrices, and authorization limits.
• Reviews payment batches and fund transfer instructions before release, as applicable.
• Ensures proper controls over electronic banking platforms and payment access.

Collections & Cash Receipts

• Coordinates with Accounting, Sales, and other relevant departments to monitor collections and cash receipts.
• Monitors collection schedules and expected cash inflows.
• Ensures timely deposit and recording of cash and check collections.
• Reviews collection and deposit reports and investigates unusual or significant variances.
• Ensures proper safeguarding and handling of cash and other cash equivalents.

Bank Reconciliation & Control

• Oversees timely bank reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items.
• Reviews unusual, unauthorized, or unexplained bank transactions.
• Ensures proper documentation and investigation of outstanding reconciling items.
• Establishes controls to prevent unauthorized withdrawals, transfers, duplicate payments, and other treasury-related risks.

Working Capital Management

• Monitors the organization's working capital position and liquidity requirements.
• Coordinates with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams to optimize cash
• conversion.
• Recommends strategies to improve collection timing and payment scheduling.
• Monitors cash tied up in receivables, inventory, deposits, and other working capital components.
• Provides recommendations to management to improve working capital efficiency.

Financing & Credit Facilities

• Coordinates with Management and financial institutions regarding loans, credit facilities, and other financing arrangements.
• Monitors loan schedules, interest payments, maturity dates, and compliance with financing requirements.
• Maintains complete documentation for credit facilities and financing transactions.
• Evaluates financing options based on cost, liquidity requirements, and business needs.
• Provides management with analysis of financing costs and alternatives.

Treasury Risk Management

• Identifies and monitors liquidity, banking, interest rate, foreign exchange, credit, and other financial risks applicable to the organization.
• Recommends appropriate measures to mitigate treasury-related risks.
• Ensures adequate controls over cash, bank accounts, payment systems, and financial transactions.
• Monitors potential fraud risks and strengthens preventive and detective controls.
• Ensures business continuity measures are in place for critical treasury processes.

Treasury Reporting & Analysis

• Prepares regular reports on cash position, cash flow, bank balances, collections, disbursements, financing, and liquidity.
• Provides management with timely information on treasury performance and financial risks.
• Develops treasury KPIs and monitors performance against established targets.
• Conducts analysis of cash utilization, banking costs, financing costs, and
• other treasury-related metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant finance/treasury experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong experience in cash management, cash flow forecasting, banking operations, payment processing, and financial controls.
• Experience managing multiple bank accounts, banking relationships, and electronic banking platforms.
• Strong understanding of working capital and liquidity management.
• Experience in a multi-site or multi-company environment is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
