AMLA and Data Protection Officer

About the role
Function under the direction of the Section Head of Compliance and Data Privacy and the Head of Legal Department to ensure Malayan's activities are consistent with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA) and Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001.
Key responsibilities
Assist the Section Head in drafting and implementing data protection policies and procedures and in developing, promulgating, reviewing, or amending company rules, regulations and measures for the effective implementation of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA)
Review and analyze all existing Operating Guidelines (OpG) which are relevant and related to the processing of client's personal information and propose needed amendments or revision for protection of the data within its life cycle in the Company
Assist with monitoring of Malayan departments to ensure compliance with DPA and other relevant laws
Work with departments to identify privacy gaps and deficiencies through privacy risk assessments and participate in the development of appropriate work flows and corrective actions to address identified gaps and deficiencies
Assist in the development of privacy training programs, conduct and monitor the effectiveness of employee privacy training programs, and participate in monitoring employees' compliance with required privacy training
Conduct periodic monitoring reviews to identify deficiencies in the adherence to privacy policies and procedures, and work with departments to develop appropriate action plans to mitigate deficiencies
Conduct risk assessment to new and existing processes and on third parties that transacts with the company
Assist the Data Protection Officer with the management of privacy disputes and complaint investigations
Assist in drafting and implementing AML policies and procedures and in developing, promulgating, reviewing, or amending company rules, regulations and measures for the effective implementation of Anti Money Laundering Act of 2001
Submit AMLA reports such as but not limited to mandatory reporting of Covered and Suspicious Transaction within the prescribed period
About you
Underbar or at least 3rd year Law Student
Relevant experience with Compliance, AML and/or Data Privacy is an advantage
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other Web applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate and resolve privacy incidents proactively
Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure projects executed on time and successfully
Works well with co-workers and supports colleagues' development
Familiarity with legislation, regulations and standards for the protection of data privacy
