Remote IoT Deployment Manager / Deployment Program Manager
Monroe Consulting Group Philippines
Executive search firm Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of an IT company that provides a comprehensive indoor air quality optimization platform, combining innovative hardware, software, and the expertise of experienced professionals to help organizations assess, monitor, and improve indoor air quality-creating healthier workplaces and enhancing occupant comfort and wellbeing.
About the Role- As a Remote IoT Deployment Manager / Deployment Program Manager, you own the journey of getting our devices from a signed deal to a fully live, correctly installed, data-reporting deployment. You are the person who makes sure that what we sold actually works on the ground - every device in the right place, every gateway providing coverage, every sensor reporting cleanly.
- This is hands-on, real-world work in commercial buildings. You'll get pulled in late in the sales cycle, at roughly the quoting stage, to help Sales scope the deployment: translating a customer's floor plan into the right number of devices and gateways and locking in placement. Once the deal closes, you take ownership of the entire deployment - coordinating general contractors, low-voltage installers, IT teams, project managers, and client-side consultants, preparing the account and environment, project-managing logistics to install day, and troubleshooting issues as they surface. You know these players from experience - how each of them works, how to speak their language, and where deployments typically get dropped between them.
- This is a role for a proactive driver, not a coordinator. When something goes wrong - and on real deployments, it will - we need someone who unblocks it, not someone who nudges other parties and waits. You'll resolve nearly all standard troubleshooting and floor-plan mapping yourself, pulling in internal experts only for the rare, genuinely complex cases, and you'll exercise the judgment to know when to solve, when to escalate, and when a business decision is the right answer. Your job is done when a deployment is complete: every device installed correctly and reliably reporting its data.
What You'll Do
Scope the deployment alongside Sales (pre-close)
- Partner with Sales during the quoting stage to translate a customer's space into the right solution - determining the appropriate device and gateway quantities and placement so the deployment is set up to succeed from the outset.
- Set up the deployment for success (post-close)
- Take ownership of the deployment at handoff - confirming how devices will connect and report data, whether to the cloud or into the building's management system (BMS), aligning the right internal and client-side stakeholders, and preparing the customer's account and environment ahead of installation.
- Get installers and IT ready for a smooth install, ensuring the necessary documentation, access, and technical prerequisites are in place before install day.
Project-manage the path to installation
- Own the deployment timeline, coordinating logistics and stakeholders so that devices arrive where and when they're needed and the installation stays on schedule.
- Own the install and drive it to completion
- Anticipate and manage the many ways real deployments go sideways - from lost or incomplete shipments to devices installed in the wrong place, cabled or powered incorrectly, or misconfigured - catching risks before install day where possible and resolving them quickly when they surface.
- Oversee the installation, verifying that devices are correctly placed and reliably reporting data, and adjusting as needed.
- Independently diagnose and resolve the technical issues that arise during live installs - often network, IT, or power-related, and often worked in real time with the customer's IT or network team - engaging Product or Engineering for the rare, genuinely unusual cases.
Communicate, escalate, and take initiative
- Keep Sales and Customer Success informed of deployment progress, and proactively unblock issues to move projects forward rather than simply coordinating between parties.
- Exercise sound judgment on when to keep solving, when to escalate, and when a business decision is the right call - keeping the right people informed throughout.
What You'll Bring
Minimum Qualifications - these are must-haves:
- 3+ years deploying or installing physical technology into occupied commercial buildings - for example connected/IoT devices, AV, security, low-voltage systems, or network/telecom infrastructure - where you worked directly with on-site installers, low-voltage/control contractors, general contractors, and client IT teams. This hands-on, in-the-field experience is the core of the role; candidates whose deployment experience is purely software or SaaS project management won't be a fit.
- A working command of how commercial building deployments actually run. You understand the cast of stakeholders (GC, low-voltage and control contractors, installers, facilities, client IT), how to speak each of their languages, where deployments typically get dropped, and what has to be true on the client's side before install day.
- The ability to read floor plans and construction drawings and translate them into a device layout.
- Solid technical fluency in the things that commonly break on site. You can independently diagnose and resolve the standard technical failures of a live install: firewall and port/whitelisting issues, device network admission (IP addressing, DHCP/DNS), cable patching, and the like - often working live alongside the customer's network admin.
Bonus Points For:
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and building integrations - some deployments report into a BMS rather than the cloud.
- Knowledge of building certification standards (WELL, RESET, LEED).
- Experience with IoT hardware and software solutions - especially building sensing of any kind: indoor air quality or environmental monitoring, occupancy or space utilization, energy metering, or similar smart-building rollouts.
- Additional languages, given our global client base.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent hands-on field experience in lieu of a degree.
What Will Make You Successful
Proactive Ownership
- Project Ownership: You own a deployment timeline from scoping to go-live - driving it forward, not just relaying updates between parties.
- Bias to Action: When something's blocked, you find a way through it. You take initiative and push projects over the finish line rather than waiting for direction.
Detail & Organization
- Meticulous Execution: You care deeply about the small things - correct placement, complete checklists, prerequisites confirmed before the big install day. You don't let details slip.
- Foresight & Risk Management: You anticipate what could go wrong before it does - a shipment that might slip, a crew that might not have what it needs, a detail that hasn't been confirmed - and you head it off rather than discovering it on install day.
- Multi-Thread Management: You keep multiple deployments, stakeholders, and moving timelines organized and on track at once.
Technical & Practical Problem-Solving ️
- Hands-On Troubleshooting: You can read an error, isolate where the failure sits, and drive it to a fix - independently resolving the vast majority of install issues.
- Spatial & Systems Fluency: You're comfortable reading floor plans and grasping connectivity and coverage concepts, and you know the boundaries of your own expertise well enough to pull in an expert at the right moment.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Cross-Functional Coordination: You speak fluently to installers, IT, client-side PMs, consultants, and executives - translating between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Clear Escalation: You keep the right people informed and raise issues early and clearly, with the judgment to know what warrants escalation.
Judgment & Business Sense
- Discernment: You know when to keep troubleshooting, when to escalate, and when a business decision (not a technical one) is the right call.
- Commercial Awareness: You weigh account importance and business context when deciding how to resolve issues, balancing customer experience against cost.
Location & Working Hours
- This is a full-time, remote role, worked primarily during North American business hours.
- We run deployments for global portfolio clients and assign accounts by time-zone fit: our deployment managers each cover roughly half the globe, with accounts assigned so that your clients' main stakeholders sit closest to your working hours.
- Because deployments happen on the ground all over the world, the role does require genuine schedule flexibility. Most coordination happens asynchronously over email, but when an install is underway in another region, you'll occasionally need to take an early-morning or late-evening call - to brief or train installers, or to stay reachable by phone during a live installation in case something needs solving on the spot. Expect a few hours outside your normal schedule in a given week - not a wholesale shift in your working day.
