Australian Credit Analyst

Position Title: Australian Credit Analyst Reports To: Operations Director – Training & Onboarding / Support & Upskilling Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Australian Credit Analyst to assess loan applications and evaluate customers' creditworthiness in accordance with Australian lending regulations and company policies. The successful candidate will review financial documents, identify lending risks, and provide recommendations that support informed credit decisions while ensuring compliance with Australian financial standards. Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (preferred). Qualifications a. Experience in Australian mortgage processing, credit analysis, or lending is highly desirable. b. Knowledge of Australian banking and lending regulations. c. Experience using lender portals and loan processing platforms is an advantage. d. Familiarity with lender policies from major Australian banks and non-bank lenders. e. Understanding of responsible lending obligations under Australian regulations. f. Experience with loan servicing and credit assessment software. Key Responsibilities a. Analyze and assess residential and/or commercial loan applications. b. Review customers' financial information, including payslips, tax returns, bank statements, and supporting documents. c. Conduct serviceability calculations using Australian lending guidelines. d. Assess borrowers' creditworthiness and identify potential lending risks. e. Verify employment, income, liabilities, assets, and living expenses. f. Review credit reports and identify adverse credit history. g. Ensure compliance with Australian lending regulations, including responsible lending obligations. h. Prepare detailed credit assessment reports and recommendations. i. Liaise with mortgage brokers, lenders, clients, and internal teams to obtain additional documentation when required. j. Maintain accurate records within CRM and loan management systems. k. Stay updated with Australian lending policies and lender credit guidelines. Skills and Competencies Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent attention to detail.
