Bookkeeper | with AU Bookkeeping Experience

Overview of the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team and play an important role in supporting the financial operations of the business. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in accuracy, and can confidently manage financial information in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with the team and clients, helping ensure the business’s financial processes run smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality.

Main duties include:

• Process day-to-day bookkeeping transactions in Xero.
• Reconcile and maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Process payroll and maintain payroll records.
• Reconcile superannuation and payroll liabilities.
• Assist with BAS and IAS preparation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Support month-end reporting and other accounting functions.
• Liaise with clients and team members regarding bookkeeping matters

Requirements

• 1-2 years' bookkeeping experience (mandatory).
• Xero Certified Advisor certification (mandatory).
• Hands-on experience using Xero (mandatory).
• Experience with bank reconciliations, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.

Preferred experience:

• Experience processing Australian payroll.
• Experience working with Australian accounting firms.
