Assistant Marketing Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of marketing strategies that enhance brand equity, increase market share, and achieve sales objectives. The role oversees day-to-day marketing operations, brand and trade marketing activities, product launches, market research, and promotional campaigns while ensuring alignment with the company's business goals. The Assistant Marketing Manager works closely with Sales, Production, Product Development, Purchasing, and Finance to drive business growth within the FMCG industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Marketing

• Assist in developing and implementing annual marketing plans, brand strategies, and promotional calendars.
• Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify business opportunities.
• Recommend marketing initiatives that support sales growth and brand development.

Brand Management

• Manage and strengthen the company's brands to ensure consistent positioning across all channels.
• Monitor product performance and recommend strategies to improve market penetration.
• Ensure brand consistency in all marketing communications and promotional materials.

Trade Marketing

• Develop and implement trade marketing programs to support distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners.
• Coordinate in-store promotions, merchandising activities, product displays, and retail activations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotions and recommend improvements.

Product Management

• Support new product development and product launch activities.
• Coordinate with Product Development, Regulatory, Purchasing, Production, and Sales during product commercialization.
• Conduct pricing and product performance analysis.

Digital Marketing

• Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including social media, website content, email marketing, and online advertising.
• Monitor campaign performance using marketing analytics and recommend optimization strategies.

Marketing Operations

• Manage marketing projects to ensure timely and successful execution.
• Coordinate with advertising agencies, printers, suppliers, media partners, and other external service providers.
• Assist in preparing and monitoring the department's marketing budget.

Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare monthly marketing reports and performance analyses.
• Measure campaign effectiveness, ROI, market share, and sales performance.
• Present findings and recommendations to Management.

Team Leadership

• Supervise Marketing Officers, Marketing Assistants, and other assigned personnel.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Promote collaboration and effective communication within the Marketing team and other departments.

Other Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Marketing Manager or Senior Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Marketing in a managerial role.
• Strong FMCG industry experience is required,  preferably in personal care, food, beverage, household, pharmaceutical, or consumer products manufacturing.
• Strong background in brand management, trade marketing, product marketing, and marketing campaign execution.
• Experience in product launches and distributor support programs.
• Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with digital marketing platforms and marketing analytics tools is an advantage.
• Knowledge of modern trade, general trade, and distributor management is highly preferred.
