Fire Life and Safety Engineer

Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in fire safety engineering, consultancy, or code compliance (fresh graduates with strong academic focus in fire safety will also be considered).
• Familiarity with NFPA Standards, International Building Code (IBC), and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code is highly desirable.
• Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
• Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar markup tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment
Key Responsibilities
As a Fire & Life Safety Engineer/Consultant, you will:
1. Prepare Fire Strategy Reports – in accordance with NFPA, IBC, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and other relevant international
standards.
2. Review Architectural Drawings – assess layouts against applicable fire codes and highlight areas of non-compliance.
3. Prepare and Review Fire Life Safety Drawings – mark up PDF drawings with a focus on means of egress, fire ratings of walls/doors,
and code compliance.
4. Develop Technical Design Notes – prepare formal design notes and clarifications to support project approvals.
5. Review Fire Protection System Designs – check mechanical/electrical/fire system design drawings against NFPA, IBC, and UAE Fire
& Life Safety Code requirements.
6. Coordinate with Design Teams – provide clear, code-based feedback to architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.
