Solar Technician (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities - Install, assemble, and configure solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries, and related equipment.
- Perform electrical wiring, connections, grounding, and cable routing for solar PV systems.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of solar power systems.
- Inspect solar installations to identify electrical, mechanical, or equipment-related issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults, equipment failures, and performance problems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other system components.
- Monitor system performance and report abnormalities or technical concerns.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and installation plans.
- Use electrical testing instruments and hand/power tools properly and safely.
- Ensure that all work complies with project specifications, company procedures, and applicable electrical and occupational safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of installation, inspection, maintenance, testing, and repair activities.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, contractors, and other project personnel when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness, proper organization, and safety at the worksite.
- Follow proper procedures for handling tools, electrical equipment, solar components, and other materials.
- Report defective materials, unsafe conditions, accidents, and technical problems to the immediate supervisor.
- Perform other technical duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a technical/vocational course in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Experience in solar PV installation, electrical work, or equipment maintenance is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems, wiring, electrical safety, and solar PV technology.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with solar panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and related equipment.
- Willingness to work outdoors, at heights, and in different project locations.
- Physically fit and capable of performing fieldwork.
- Good troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willing to undergo company training and safety orientation.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and clamp meters.
- Knowledge of solar PV system commissioning and preventive maintenance.
- Basic computer skills for preparing reports and documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
