Payroll Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Data Processing: Collect, review, and verify timesheets, overtime hours, bonuses, and commissions.
- Payroll Execution: Calculate gross and net pay, process withholdings (taxes, insurance, and retirement), and issue payouts via direct deposit or check.
- Compliance & Taxes: Ensure wage and hour laws are met. Calculate and file local/national payroll taxes and statutory liabilities.
- Employee Support: Serve as the main point of contact for staff to answer inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and benefits.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized, highly confidential databases of payroll transactions, exemptions, and employee files.
- Reporting: Generate financial reports on payroll expenses for HR, finance, and the management team
Job Requirements
Mathematical & Analytical Skills: High accuracy in numbers, calculations, and identifying discrepancies.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and national labor legislation, tax codes, and benefits administration.
Confidentiality: High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive employee compensation data.
Communication: Clear, diplomatic, and empathetic communication skills to resolve payroll issues with staff.
