The On-the-Job Trainee (OJT) — IT Team (Pooling) will gain practical, hands-on experience supporting IT operations, user support and routine system administration tasks. This role is ideal for students eager to learn IT fundamentals, assist with day-to-day technical workflows and contribute to an effective pooled support model. You will work alongside experienced IT colleagues, follow established procedures and help ensure timely resolution of requests and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with first-line user support including logging, categorising and routing incidents and service requests.

• Support basic system and hardware setup tasks such as workstation provisioning, software installation and peripheral configuration.

• Help maintain inventory records and update asset databases to ensure accurate tracking of equipment.

• Contribute to routine maintenance activities, patching support and scheduled system checks under supervision.

• Support the migration and consolidation of user accounts and data into pooled systems as required.

• Prepare and update clear documentation, knowledge base articles and simple how-to guides for common tasks.

• Communicate with colleagues and stakeholders promptly and professionally, providing status updates and follow-ups.

• Adhere to confidentiality, data protection and internal control requirements at all times.

Qualifications:

• Student currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an IT-related degree (Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or similar).

• Sense of initiative with a willingness to learn, take on tasks proactively and suggest improvements.

• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and schedules within a pooled support model.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills when liaising with users, teammates and stakeholders.

• Strong social skills with a positive, professional manner and the ability to build rapport across teams.

• Committed, responsible and attentive to detail when managing tickets, assets and documentation.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning IT service management and ticketing tools.
