Project Based Tax Accountant

Main Purpose of the Role:

To manage and execute all activities related to VAT refund applications, including VAT audits, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and optimizing internal processes for efficient tax recovery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

A. VAT Refund Management

• Prepare and submit VAT refund applications in accordance with local tax laws.
• Review supporting documents from various departments to ensure completeness and accuracy for VAT claims.
• Coordinate with external tax consultants (if any) to gather necessary information for VAT refund submissions.
• Monitor and follow up on the status of VAT refunds with local tax authorities.

B. Process Improvement

• Evaluate current internal processes related to VAT documentation.
• Propose enhancements to streamline future VAT refund applications.

C. Tax Reporting and Compliance

• Prepare and submit periodic VAT reports to relevant authorities.
• Reconcile VAT returns against ITR returns and Audited Financial Statements.
• Assist in the preparation of documentation for income tax, withholding tax, and VAT audits.
• Liaise with tax authorities and tax agents regarding audit queries and compliance matters.

D. Tax Advisory

• Provide guidance on tax implications and treatments related to VAT, withholding tax, and income tax.
• Support internal stakeholders with tax-related queries and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.

E. Group Reporting

Compile and prepare tax reports for group-level reporting and consolidation.

F. Support to Business Controller

Assist the Business Controller with ad-hoc assignments and financial analysis as required
