Tax and Regulatory Compliance Coordnator

Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of a globally recognized manufacturer specializing in high-quality, customized orthopedic footwear.
Our client is seeking an experienced Tax and Regulatory Compliance Coordinator to ensure that the company complies to all relevant tax laws and regulations by the Bureau of Internal Revenue and other governing agencies, to include but not limited to Board of Investments (BOI), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and local government units and business partners both external and internal. This is an onsite position based in Pulilan, Bulacan.

• The Tax and Regulatory Compliance Coordinator make sure the company complies to all relevant tax laws and regulations by the Bureau of Internal Revenue and other governing agencies, to include but not limited to Board of Investments (BOI), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and local government units and business partners both external and internal.
• The role will prioritize focusing and ensuring the VAT Refund Compliances, Applications and maximize the possibility of Refunds.
• The role involves diligent preparation of tax filings, monitoring changes in tax laws and updating the concerns, regulatory filings with BOI, SEC and LGUs.
• The coordinator also to conduct internal compliance audit on compliances, works jointly with internal leaders and collaborates with external partners, as the need arises. He/She provides guidance to internal team on compliance matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diligent preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns and VAT Refund Application except Compensation taxes
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings
• Monitor changes in tax laws and update the concerns.
• Develop tax strategies and implement upon approval.
• Conduct internal audit to assess tax compliances.
• Liaise with tax authorities and respond to the inquiries.
• Manage tax audits and assessments, resolve discrepancies, update, elevate and discuss resolution on such matters to the superiors.
• Communicate and work jointly with tax advisors and auditors.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliances with all relevant regulations of national and local government agencies and units.
• Develop and implement upon approval, compliance policies and procedures.
• Monitor operational procedures to identify and lessen if not eliminate compliance risk.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on compliance requirements.
• Conducting audit on operational/financial practices in relation to compliances

Other Tasks:

• Maintain accurate records of tax filing and compliance documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compliances.
• Stay updated, inform leaders and cascade to the team on best practices and emerging trends in tax and regulatory compliances.
• Participate, if any, in tax-related projects and initiatives.
• Communicate tax complexities and regulatory issues to non-financial business partners or teams.
• Lead on assisting with the resolution of any tax or regulatory disputes.
• Assist in the annual stock takings and year-end audit activities.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
• Quarterly Summary List of Sales, Purchases and Importations (QSLSP)
• Alphabetical List of Payees from whom Taxes were withheld (BIR Form 1601-E Schedule 1)
• Photocopy and Scanned copies of Supplier's Invoices and Official Receipts and company's Sales Invoices
• Application for Zero-Rating
• BOI Annual Reports
• Permits & Licenses
• Purchasing Staff/Team Leader/Supervisor/Officer/Manager - Supplier's invoices and official receipts
• Finance Staff: Accounts Payable - Coordination and counterchecking of VAT and Tax related entries and documentation
• Government Agencies - Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Board of Investments (BOI), Municipality of Pulilan, Provincial Capitol of Bulacan, and others.
