Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Directing and coordinating the work of farm staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Crop Management: Overseeing planting, cultivation, harvesting, and storage of crops, potentially including experimental plots and coordinating with research project leaders.
- Animal Management: Managing livestock care, including feeding, breeding, and monitoring animal health and well-being.
- Facility and Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring proper maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery, and equipment.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of farm activities, including planting schedules, yields, animal health, and inventory.
- Planning and Implementation: Developing and executing farm plans, including crop rotation, fertilization, and pest control strategies.
- Budget Management: Monitoring and controlling farm expenses, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Training and Mentorship: Providing guidance and training to farm staff, including onboarding new employees.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Communication: Communicating with farm managers, researchers, and other stakeholders regarding farm operations and performance.
- Educational Qualifications: High/Senior High School Diploma is required.
- Experience Level: Less than 1 year of experience in agriculture preferred.
- Skills and Competencies: Attention to detail and knowledge of agricultural techniques.
- Working Conditions: Often works outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Qualities and Traits: Strong work ethic, capability to work independently, and a passion for farming.
