Job Overview:
The Tax Accountant will manage accounting functions, financial reporting, BAS and tax lodgements, reconciliations, and compliance using Xero and other accounting tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements using Xero.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, including GST coding and reconciliations.
- Prepare and lodge Individual Tax Returns.
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and post adjusting and accrual journal entries.
- Manage ATO lodgements and monitor BAS, PAYG, and ITR deadlines.
- Assist with payroll preparation and review.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven Australian bookkeeping and accounting experience.
- Mandatory Xero experience.
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.
- Payroll experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
