Auto Painter Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:

Assisting in all painting preparation

of all daily units to pre-accident quality condition through effective painting

preparation, diagnosis and repair planning with Job controller and team

painter. Follow paint & company system process, attain target daily prep

completion units and perform quality check before painting and releasing unit.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• High quality of application of body filler, primers, sanding, sealers for the highest quality base and clear coat painting of Cromax paint system for parts or panels for the painter.
• Know how to utilize spray guns, sanding blocks, dry sander, polisher, required safety gear, etc. in order to complete quality work.
• Work closely as a team with the Painter, Tinsmith, R&R and Job Controllers.
• Knowledge of painting imperfections and defects to remedy and rectify.
• Repair plan and diagnosis with Job Controller and Painter to reduce repair scope and improve quality, recheck documents for complete repair is made per RO and repair plan.
• Prepping approximately 5 Fully Prepped panels ready for the sprayer.
• Cost materials management, and use of sanders and polishers to get the finish right the first time.
• Ensure correct masking, no overspray, and reduce unnecessary additional cleaning by keeping client vehicles clean.
• Complete QC process before and after painting.
• Manage the status of units, report a change of vehiclestatus.
• Reduce paint deficiencies and rework to a minimum.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas, and properly use and maintain equipment & prep booth.
• Other duties as assigned, meetings, and training.
