Electrical Engineer

The Electromechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of production equipment and facility systems. This role oversees the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical and mechanical systems to support uninterrupted food manufacturing operations while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs for production equipment and utility systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues to minimize production downtime.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery and equipment.
• Ensure all equipment operates efficiently and complies with food safety, GMP, and company standards.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams to resolve equipment-related concerns.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend process improvements to increase productivity, reliability, and energy efficiency.
• Prepare maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment records, and technical reports.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate the procurement of critical maintenance materials.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety, electrical safety, and environmental regulations.
• Supervise contractors and technicians during maintenance, repairs, and facility improvement projects.
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support facility utilities, including refrigeration systems, air compressors, generators, water systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Participate in equipment validation, calibration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in budgeting and planning for maintenance activities, equipment upgrades, and capital expenditures.
• Perform other engineering and maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Preferably a Licensed Engineer (Registered Electrical Engineer, Registered Mechanical Engineer, or equivalent), but not required.
• Fresh graduate or at least 2–5 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing operations, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, PLCs, automation, mechanical equipment, refrigeration systems, and preventive maintenance.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, Food Safety Management Systems (FSSC 22000/ISO 22000), and occupational safety standards is an advantage.
• Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, planning, and leadership abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
• Willing to work on a shifting schedule, render overtime when necessary, and be assigned to the company's production facility.
