Accounting Manager

8Sphere Distribution Corp. is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing our financial accounting and reporting operations. As Accounting Manager, you will oversee the accounting department, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic financial insights to support the company's growth and operational objectives. This position is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and delivering timely, reliable financial reporting across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliation

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting regulations

• Ensure accurate recording and classification of all financial transactions within the general ledger

• Oversee the preparation of tax returns, statutory filings and other regulatory compliance documentation

• Manage the accounting team, including recruitment, training, performance management and professional development

• Conduct internal audit reviews and implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls and financial processes

• Analyse financial data and variances to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities

• Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with legal requirements

• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and systems that promote efficiency and accuracy

• Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management to support strategic decision-making

What we're looking for

• Professional accounting qualification such as Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with professional accreditation (CPA or equivalent) highly desirable

• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in accounting management or senior accounting roles within a distribution, retail or manufacturing environment

• Extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles, generally accepted accounting practices and regulatory requirements in the Philippines

• Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; experience with popular accounting platforms is advantageous

• Strong competency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP and data analysis

• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead accounting teams effectively, with excellent coaching and mentoring skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders

• Knowledge of tax planning strategies, payroll management and statutory compliance relevant to Philippine businesses

• Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting and cost analysis is preferred
