Accounting Supervisor

- Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions.
- Coordinate and prioritize daily accounting activities.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Prepare and review journal entries.
- Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing: Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion.
- Prepare and review closing entries.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and other relevant regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Ensure tax compliance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
- Utilize accounting software and systems effectively.
- Other Duties: Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Provide support to other departments as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 2 years of progressive accounting experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPA or relevant accounting certification is a plus.
