Metal Roofing Estimator - AU Account

We are looking for an experienced Metal Roofing Estimator to work directly and exclusively for our client, a Melbourne-based metal roofing contractor working with several of Australia’s largest residential builders. You will prepare accurate quantity take-offs for quoting and material ordering on pitched corrugated roofs and medium-density residential developments, supporting the Melbourne team with estimating, tendering and cost tracking on live projects.
Key responsibilities:
• Complete metal roofing quantity take-offs for quoting and material ordering
• Produce accurate sheet quantities and lengths, cut lists and cut stacks
• Calculate ridge, hip and valley quantities
• Prepare marked-up roof layouts
• Manage document and revision control through Dropbox
• Assist with quotations and tenders, including entering and uploading information into Ascora
• Monitor labour and material costs against budgets on live projects
• Communicate clearly with the onshore team regarding drawings, revisions and project requirements
RequirementsEssential:
• Proven previous experience completing metal roofing quantity take-offs, specifically pitched corrugated roofs and medium-density residential developments
• Ability to consistently produce accurate, practical roofing take-offs
• Able to demonstrate comparable previous work (work samples will be requested)
• Experience with Dropbox for document and revision control
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Clear written and spoken English communication
• Available to work full-time during Melbourne business hours
• Reliable home internet connection and a quiet work-from-home setup
Desirable:
• Experience with AppliCad / Roof Wizard or equivalent roofing estimating software (highly regarded)
• Experience with Ascora or similar job management software
• Previous experience working for an Australian construction or roofing company
• Understanding of Australian roofing products, profiles and building standards
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a practical skills assessment.
