Key Responsibilities for Sales Executive
- Identify potential clients across air, sea, and land freight sectors through market research, cold calls, networking, and industry events.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to consistently meet or exceed targets.
- Promote the full suite of logistics services (air, sea, land, warehousing, customs brokerage).
- Build long-term relationships with clients by understanding their shipping needs and offering customized freight solutions.
- Act as a key liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction across all freight modes.
- Prepare and present accurate and competitive freight quotations based on customer requirements and route specifics.
- Collaborate with pricing and procurement teams to secure space and rates from carriers (airlines, shipping lines, land transporters).
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure timely pick-up, transit, and delivery of cargo via air, sea, and land routes.
- Resolve any transit-related issues such as delays, damages, or customs clearance concerns.
- Negotiate service agreements and contracts with clients, ensuring terms are competitive and profitable.
- Secure bookings and follow through on delivery timelines and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales activities
- Keep track of competitor activities, freight rate fluctuations, carrier schedules, and trade lane developments.
- Provide input for route optimization, cost-saving opportunities, and new market penetration strategies.
- Generate weekly/monthly sales reports and revenue forecasts for management.
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years of proven success in a sales or business development role within the logistics or transportation industry
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
- Strong commercial acumen and the drive to consistently meet or exceed sales targets
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and comfortable using logisys systems
- A relevant tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain management or a related field is preferred
