Are you passionate about legal compliance and data privacy? Join our team as a Paralegal & Data Privacy Officer and help strengthen the organization's legal operations while ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and regulations. Job Summary: The Paralegal & Data Privacy Officer provides legal support through research, document preparation, and case management while overseeing the company's data privacy compliance. This role ensures adherence to applicable laws, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), and promotes responsible data handling across the organization. What You'll Do: Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents
- Assist in reviewing contracts and service agreements
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
- Support case preparation, including fact investigation, evidence gathering, and witness interviews
- Assist in preparing for hearings and trials
- Organize and maintain legal documents, records, and evidence in both physical and electronic files
- Develop and implement data privacy policies in compliance with RA 10173
- Ensure department-specific data protection policies and security measures are in place
- Monitor compliance with data privacy policies across the organization
- Conduct data privacy audits and risk assessments
- Lead employee awareness and training on data privacy principles and responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and data protection authorities
- Respond to inquiries regarding personal data and data privacy concerns
- Manage data breach incidents and ensure proper resolution in accordance with established procedures
- Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field; Bachelor of Laws (LLB) graduate is preferred
- At least 1 year of experience as a Paralegal is preferred
- Experience or involvement in Data Privacy compliance is an advantage
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Team player with initiative, integrity, and a willingness to learn
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
