About the role
Our client, a fast-growing, multi-site restaurant and retail brand is looking for a Restaurant Systems, Engineering & Operational Excellence Head to standardize how every store is designed, opened, run and audited. You will own store readiness, restaurant systems and SOPs, process improvement, facilities quality and performance analytics, and you will partner with Operations, Construction, Supply Chain, Facilities and senior leadership so that every store opens on time, runs efficiently, meets standards and delivers a consistent customer experience.
This role suits Industrial Engineers and operational excellence leaders who have built and scaled systems across multiple sites, particularly in QSR, coffee, convenience, fuel retail or other consumer-facing networks.
Key responsibilities
Lead store opening readiness programs for new and existing locations
Develop store operating standards, audit frameworks and readiness checklists
Partner with Construction, Facilities, Operations and vendors to deliver on-time store launches
Conduct site assessments and operational readiness reviews
Lead Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives across the network
Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions
Design and optimize workflows to improve speed, productivity, cost efficiency and customer experience
Establish KPIs and performance measurement systems
Develop, implement and continuously improve restaurant systems, SOPs, policies and operating procedures
Ensure operational consistency across all stores
About you
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (strongly preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
At least 7 years of progressive experience in operational excellence, process improvement, restaurant systems, retail operations, facilities management or construction coordination; 10 years or more is an advantage
Proven experience supporting multi-site QSR, restaurant, coffee, convenience, fuel retail, food service or other consumer-facing operations
Hands-on exposure to store openings or expansion, kitchen or store layout and equipment planning, operational audits and systems implementation
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt preferred; Black Belt is a strong advantage)
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data tools such as Excel, Power BI or similar
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional improvement initiatives
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, ISO and quality management systems is preferred
