Google Ads Senior Account Manager – PPC Leadership | Remote Position Type: Full-Time, Remote
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Team: Leads a pod of up to 7 Google Ads Account Managers
Compensation: $85,000 Base Salary | $120,000 OTE About the Role At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Google Ads Senior Account Manager to lead a team of Google Ads Account Managers while personally managing a reduced portfolio of high-value PPC clients. This is a player-coach role . You’ll remain hands-on with Google Ads while coaching your team, reviewing campaign quality, managing escalations, improving processes, and driving client retention. Your goal: deliver excellent PPC performance, develop stronger Account Managers, and keep great clients longer. What You’ll Own Google Ads Strategy & Client Management

• Own a reduced portfolio of high-value Google Ads/PPC accounts
• Develop and optimize strategies based on performance data and business objectives
• Analyze campaign results and provide actionable recommendations
• Serve as a senior strategic advisor and escalation point
• Identify account risks before they impact retention
• Manage high-stakes client conversations
• Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities

Team Leadership & Coaching Lead a pod of up to 7 Google Ads Account Managers .

• Run weekly 1:1s, coaching sessions, and role plays
• Review campaign strategy, client calls, and deliverable quality
• QA Account Manager work and maintain PPC standards
• Coach team members on Google Ads and Local Services Ads (LSA)
• Onboard and train new Account Managers
• Support hiring and performance evaluations
• Allocate accounts and balance team capacity
• Identify and address performance gaps

You won’t build campaigns for your Account Managers—you’ll set the standard, QA their work, unblock issues, and develop their skills. Client Retention & Escalations

• Act as the first escalation point for Account Managers
• Handle complex client, payment, and technical issues
• Monitor client health and identify churn risks
• Coach team members through difficult client conversations
• Maintain strong communication and service standards across the pod

Systems, QA & Process Improvement

• Ensure adherence to company SOPs and quality standards
• Audit communication, calls, campaigns, and deliverables
• Identify broken or inefficient processes
• Document and improve SOPs
• Lead adoption of new workflows and tools
• Track and report pod-level performance metrics

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on Google Ads experience
• Proven ability to build, optimize, and scale profitable PPC campaigns
• Strong ability to audit and QA Google Ads accounts
• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or coaching Account Managers or client-facing teams
• Demonstrated ability to improve team performance
• Strong client communication and escalation-management skills
• Experience building repeatable processes, SOPs, and QA systems
• Strong analytical and strategic decision-making skills

This is not a first-time management role. Previous leadership experience is required. Preferred Experience Experience managing Google Ads for home service businesses , such as:

• HVAC
• Plumbing
• Roofing
• Electrical
• Landscaping
• Cleaning
• Pest control
• Moving services

Experience with local lead generation, call-driven businesses, seasonality, PPC, and LSA is highly preferred. What Success Looks Like
