Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive member of our growing finance team. The Accounting Associate is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledger entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end closing processes. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to turn complex financial data into actionable insights.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Financial Management & Reporting
- Financial Data Management: Accurate posting and processing of daily journal entries, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll transactions.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure general ledger accuracy.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist in the timely closing of financial books, preparing accruals, depreciation schedules, and financial statement drafts.
- Compliance & Reporting: Prepare tax filings (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, withholding certificates) and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Vendor & Client Relations: Review vendor invoices, resolve billing discrepancies, manage aging reports, and follow up on collections.
- Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation, schedules, and explanations.
II. Lecturers Payroll
- Review timekeeping and process lecturers’ payroll.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–4 years of proven experience in a corporate accounting role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Xero)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data analysis formulas).
- Soft Skills:
- High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ethical judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across departments.
