Prefab BIM Modeller

Our client is an established name in the Australian construction industry, delivering prefabricated and modular structural steel solutions across a steady pipeline of concurrent projects and tender bids.

They're growing their remote BIM modelling capability and are looking for a Prefab BIM Modeller to work closely with the Design Manager Prefab and BIM Coordinators across multiple live projects at once.

Day to day, you'll model structural steel items inside existing Revit shared models — main members, bracing, purlins, mesh grating, handrails, connections, and baseplate details — produce the drawings that document those designs, build concept and tender models straight from engineers' sketches, and keep your work synced to weekly BIM coordination cycles.

What you'll be doing:

• Model and edit structural steel items — members, bracing, purlins, grating, handrails, connections, baseplates — in shared Revit models
• Produce plan, section, isometric, and detail drawings for prefab steel designs
• Build concept/tender models in Revit from engineers' sketches
• Develop and maintain Revit families and standard details
• Extract quantities/schedules and run clash detection for prefab items
• Support design reviews, flag buildability issues, assist with as-builts
• Sync models weekly and liaise closely with the Design Manager and site teams

• Qualification in Mechanical/Structural Engineering and/or Drafting
• 3+ years' Revit modelling and drafting experience
• 3+ years' experience on structural steel projects
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services (HVAC/plumbing) fabrication requirements
• Strong knowledge of Australian construction terminology and practices
• Strong English communication skills and attention to detail

• Experience with Tekla Structures or Autodesk Inventor
• Confidence with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Excel
