We are looking for a Structural Steel Detailer to produce accurate fabrication drawings and technical documentation for a diverse range of structural steel projects. The ideal candidate for this role should be skilled in interpreting engineering and architectural drawings, proficient in Auto desk Advance Steel, and able to deliver precise, high-quality documentation that supports constructability. This role is critical for ensuring drawing

accuracy, supporting fabrication teams, and keeping projects aligned with required timelines and technical standards.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the kind of person who:

• Develop detailed 2D fabrication drawings for structural steel projects using Auto-desk Advance Steel
  
• Interpret and decipher engineering and architectural drawings to produce accurate documentation
  
• Prepare and issue shop drawings and related documentation for fabrication and construction use
  
• Communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders via email and phone
  
• Use Microsoft Office applications for documentation and project communication
  
• Work within project timelines to deliver accurate, high-quality drawings
  
• Contribute to improvements in design and drafting processes
  
• Support coordination with fabricators and builders to ensure constructability
  
• Maintain organized drawing files, revisions, and project documentation.
  

Requirements

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; technical or vocational training in
  
• drafting is also considered
  
• 3+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication drawing or detailing, or related experience
  
• Strong proficiency in Auto-desk Advance Steel
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
  
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and construction processes
  
• General computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide precise information to a diverse range of clients
  
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on precision work
  
• Trade background (boilermaker, fabricator, metalwork) is highly regarded
  
• 3D modelling experience is a nice to have
