ASSOCIATE EDITOR
Reports to the Senior Features Editor. Assigned under the Content/Editorial Department, the Associate Editor shall have the following responsibilities:
- Assist in proofreading, fact-checking and editing stories for Tatler main magazine and special titles such as but not limited to Tatler Travel (print and online).
- Co-manage editorial traffic and the revision process with the Senior Features Editor by synthesizing edits from the editors and ensuring compliance with the regional style guide before publication.
- Brainstorm editorial content ideas and co-manage the implementation of the editorial line-up for print and online.
- Write and produce stories for print and online. Coordinate, conduct and transcribe interviews as assigned. Attend and cover press events as assigned.
- Assist in final checking of advertorials and supplements before they go to print. Ensure that the clients' requirements are met as well as the regional guidelines are followed. Liaise and coordinate with the Branded Content Editor and the respective departments concerned to resolve editorial or design issues, if any.
- Assist in the production of editorial shoots for print as assigned.
- Provide administrative and editorial assistance to the Editor-in-Chief as necessary.
The role will require the candidate to possess:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in communications or journalism
- At least 3 years experience in the media or publishing industry
- A true passion for writing and storytelling
- Strong editing skills
- Excellent executive function: self-monitor, self-control, emotional control, flexibility, task initiation, planning, organization and time management
- Team player and collaborative
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Intermediate knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI tools
- Intermediate knowledge of Google Office Suite (Google Docs, Sheets and Drive)
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, In Design, Canva and Capcut
- Basic knowledge of project management tools, a plus
- Basic knowledge and experience working with a website CMS, a plus
