FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

Position Title: Financial Accountant Department: Finance and Accounting Reports To: Accounting Manager / Associate Accounting Manager Employment Type: Full-Time

I. JOB PURPOSE

The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial records, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, ensuring tax and statutory compliance, and providing reliable financial information to support management decision-making.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

A. General Accounting Record and review daily accounting transactions in the accounting system. Prepare journal entries, adjusting entries, and account schedules. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Ensure transactions are properly classified and supported by complete documentation. Monitor and resolve accounting discrepancies. B. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Prepare balance sheet schedules, income statements, cash flow reports, and other financial reports. Analyze account balances and investigate significant variances. Provide accurate financial information and reports to management within established deadlines. Assist in the preparation of management reports and financial analysis. C. Account Reconciliation Perform regular bank reconciliations. Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany, inventory, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts. Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly. Maintain updated supporting schedules for assigned accounts. D. Tax and Government Compliance Assist in the preparation and filing of BIR and other statutory reports. Ensure proper recording and monitoring of VAT, withholding taxes, and other applicable taxes. Prepare supporting schedules and documents for tax compliance. Coordinate with internal and external parties regarding tax and regulatory requirements. Maintain organized records for tax audits and government examinations. E. Fixed Assets and Depreciation Maintain the fixed asset register. Record acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments of fixed assets. Calculate and record depreciation expenses. Conduct periodic reconciliation of fixed asset records against accounting records. F. Audit and Compliance Assist internal and external auditors by providing requested schedules and supporting documents. Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable accounting standards. Assist in identifying accounting control weaknesses and recommend improvements. Maintain proper documentation and audit trails. G. Budgeting and Financial Analysis Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual results against budget. Prepare variance analysis and explain significant fluctuations. Provide financial information that supports business and operational decisions. H. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and internal controls. Assist in implementing accounting system and process improvements. Ensure accounting processes are efficient, accurate, and properly documented.

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA license is an advantage. Work Experience At least 3 years of relevant experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or financial accounting. Experience in tax compliance and financial statement preparation is preferred. Experience with ERP or accounting systems is an advantage.
