Job Summary The Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer is responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. The position ensures accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimation, budgeting, procurement support, progress billing, and contract administration while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with project specifications and company standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and quantity requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects.
- Develop project budgets and assist in cost planning and cost control.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdowns.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations and recommend the most cost-effective options.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and coordinate with the Procurement Department for material and subcontract requirements.
- Monitor project costs, material consumption, and budget utilization throughout project implementation.
- Prepare progress billings, payment certificates, and supporting documentation for clients.
- Evaluate subcontractor accomplishments and verify progress claims for payment.
- Monitor contract variations, change orders, and additional works, and prepare corresponding cost analyses.
- Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Prepare project cash flow forecasts and cost reports for management.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, MEPF Engineers, and other project personnel regarding cost and quantity-related matters.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, contracts, variations, invoices, and project cost documents.
- Participate in project meetings and provide cost updates and recommendations.
- Assist in project close-out by preparing final accounts and cost reconciliation reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Licensed Civil Engineer is an advantage.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or construction cost management.
- Experience in high-rise, commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and quantity surveying or estimating software.
- Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, construction methods, cost estimating, and contract administration.
- Familiarity with Philippine construction practices, building codes, and contract conditions.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
