Software Engineer Intern - Talent Scout Program

Full-Stack & Agentic AI Track | Hybrid | 60-Day Talent Scout Program

Our 60-Day Talent Scout Program is designed to identify promising software engineers who can potentially join ChatGenie's core engineering team full-time.

This isn't an internship focused on observation or theoretical exercises. You'll undergo technical assessments, work alongside experienced developers, and contribute to real enterprise software and AI systems.

We value strong programming fundamentals, independent problem-solving, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly over familiarity with any specific technology.

• Develop and maintain backend and frontend features for enterprise applications.
• Build APIs, database integrations, and automated workflows.
• Contribute to Agentic AI systems, LLM integrations, and AI-powered features.
• Assist with AI evaluations, automated testing, and performance improvements.
• Explore cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, and enterprise integrations.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering research.

Required:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in CS, IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Java, etc.).
• Understanding of OOP, databases, REST APIs, and Git.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn independently and communicate effectively.

Nice to have:

• Ruby on Rails, Vue.js, React, GraphQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with LLM APIs, RAG, AI agents, or prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with Docker, cloud infrastructure, or automated testing.

• Experience using AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, or Codex.

You don't need to know everything. We're looking for people who can learn and apply new technologies.

Phase 1 — Technical Assessment (Days 1–14)

• Week 1: Ruby on Rails fundamentals → Build a CRUD application.
• Week 2: GraphQL + Vue.js → Build a full-stack CRUD application.
• Passing both assessments is required to advance.

Phase 2 — Engineering Immersion (Days 15–42)

• Work on actual ChatGenie features, engineering tasks, and production systems.
• Collaborate with developers through code reviews, testing, and technical guidance.

Phase 3 — Agentic AI Track (Days 43–60)

• Develop AI-powered features using LLM APIs and agentic workflows.
• Final assessment: Build, test, and demonstrate a working AI-powered application or feature.

• Daily progress journals and consistent communication.
• Independent learning, initiative, and accountability.
• Original work and a genuine understanding of submitted code.
• Responsible use of AI coding assistants — you must understand, explain, and debug your implementations.
• A working laptop/desktop, stable internet, and availability for the full program.

High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time Software Engineer position , subject to available opportunities.
