ER MACHINE SHOP ENGINEERING SERVICES
- A steel fabricator is responsible for shaping, cutting, welding, and assembling steel components to create structural frameworks or machinery for various industries. Key duties include:
- Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Reviewing detailed drawings, specifications, and project plans to understand design requirements and dimensions.
- Measuring and Cutting Steel: Using precision measuring tools and cutting equipment to cut steel into the required sizes and shapes according to specifications.
- Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is usually required. Many steel fabricators also have technical training or certifications in welding, metalworking, or related fields.
- Experience in Steel Fabrication: Previous experience in steel fabrication, welding, or metalworking is often preferred, with a good understanding of steel structures and fabrication processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using welding equipment, cutting tools, and machinery like grinders, saws, and lathes. Knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc) is crucial.
