Job Title: Utility Mechanic
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Utility Mechanic to maintain and repair the utility systems and equipment within our facility. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment runs efficiently and safely. The Utility Mechanic will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Educational Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Technical certification or an associate degree in mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field (preferred)
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Utility Mechanic or in a similar maintenance role
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical systems
- Familiarity with building maintenance and utility equipment is highly preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Experience with routine maintenance and emergency repairs
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in the workplace
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to [X] lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions
- Capable of standing, bending, crouching, and working in confined spaces for extended periods
- Ability to perform manual labor and work in a variety of environmental conditions (e.g., high temperatures, heights, or outdoors)
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and report issues effectively
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Certifications (Preferred):
- Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification
- Welding or fabrication certification
