QC Engineer

Job Purpose

Ensures that products and processes meet the established and enforced quality and efficiency standards set by the company. Guarantees that quality policies align with government standards and requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assesses and oversees Quality Control functions and activities of plants including inspection and collection of quality records.
• Reviews overall documentation and physical inspection phase of the work flow process to produce and document quality products.
• Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying and analyzing product and consumer requirements with other management representatives, production operators, engineers, and technicians.
• Establishes raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures.
• Establishes in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods; devising testing methods and procedures.
• Establishes standards for the disposition of finished products by devising evaluation methods, procedures, and tests.
• Establishes rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures and comes up with product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
• Maintains and improves product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements; collaborating with other management representatives to develop new products and engineering designs and training and manufacturing methods.
• Resolves operational, customer, contractor or technical problems that impact the effectiveness of the project using defined processes.
• Prepares product and process quality reports through the collection, analysis, and summarization of trends and data.
• Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
• Maintains quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Maintains quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Cascades and maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending different educational trainings and seminars and reviewing up to date relevant publications; establishes personal networks and is inclined to participate in professional societies.
• Attains financial objectives through the preparation of the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Solves issues within the organization.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Civil Engineer.

Training/Accreditation

• Accredited Materials Engineer II.
• Manufacturing methods and procedures.

Skills

• Knowledgeable in a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
• Technical understanding of processes and methods.
• Strong Leadership skills.
• Advanced planning and organizational skills.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills with tact and diplomacy.
• Proficient in MS Applications.

Experience

• At least 2-3 years related experience as a QC Engineer in construction.

Working Conditions

• Will work in fabrication plant and head office (as required).

Physical Requirements

• Extensive travel to company plants and sites (as necessary).
• Has flexible schedule.
