SAP ABAP Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Manager to lead the design, implementation, and support of SAP technology solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients operating across multiple industries and regions.

The role combines advanced SAP technical expertise with project delivery, client engagement, and people leadership. The successful candidate will oversee SAP development initiatives, translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions, and ensure projects are delivered according to agreed scope, budget, timelines, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing management of SAP solutions that improve client operations.
  
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into appropriate SAP solutions.
  
• Oversee the installation, configuration, administration, development, and support of SAP products and technologies.
  
• Provide technical leadership throughout the planning, development, testing, deployment, and completion of SAP projects.
  
• Apply advanced ABAP expertise to develop, customize, and enhance SAP functionality.
  
• Support the adoption and effective use of SAP technologies, including SAP Fiori, SAP HANA, and SAP NetWeaver.
  
• Monitor project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and deliverable quality.
  
• Work closely with clients, project stakeholders, and internal leadership to address technical and delivery concerns.
  
• Provide training and ongoing support to help clients integrate and use SAP applications effectively.
  
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable SAP frameworks and technical standards.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes, system performance, and operational efficiency.
  
• Resolve project conflicts and delivery issues, escalating concerns when appropriate.
  
• Coach, mentor, and manage team members to support performance, professional development, and consistent delivery quality.
  
• Promote the effective use of technology and innovation across client engagements.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  
• Seven to eleven years of relevant professional experience.
  
• Advanced hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
  
• Experience leading SAP implementation, development, or support projects.
  
• Strong understanding of SAP products, platforms, and technical environments.
  
• Demonstrated project management and team leadership capabilities.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in evaluating complex systems and identifying areas for improvement.
  
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced experience with SAP Fiori.
  
• Practical knowledge of SAP HANA and SAP NetWeaver.
  
• Experience developing and implementing process-improvement and optimization initiatives.
  
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and challenging stakeholder discussions.
  
• Experience coaching and developing technical team members.
  

At least one relevant SAP certification in an area such as:
* SAP S/4HANA System Administration
* SAP Business Technology Platform
* SAP Integration Suite
* SAP Security
* SAP technical architecture or another related SAP technology specialization
