Associate Director for Data Analytics and Insights

Angkas is the Philippines' leading motorcycle ride-hailing platform. We move millions of Filipinos through traffic every day while building real livelihoods for our driver partners.

We're hiring a Head of Analytics to own the data function end-to-end. You'll lead a team, get your hands dirty with the data, and work directly with leadership to shape how we think about our business — not just report on it.

JOB DETAILS:

You'll be responsible for the analytics roadmap and making sure the team is working on what actually matters. That means driver incentive programs, supply-demand dynamics, pricing, retention, unit economics, and others. You'll build the team's skillset, set up the right processes, and make sure we're tracking the metrics that actually matter.

On a daily basis, expect a mix of strategic work (presenting to executives, aligning with product, operations and finance) and technical work (reviewing analyses, debugging logic, writing your own queries when needed). It's a lean setup—expect to work closely with people across levels.

You'll also own data governance—working with engineering on pipeline reliability, pushing for better documentation, and establishing data lineage so people actually trust the numbers.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

→ 10+ years in analytics or data science, with at least 5 years leading a team

→ Strong SQL and Python skills—you can still do the work, not just manage it

→ Solid stats foundation: experimentation, causal inference, hypothesis testing

→ Experience with BI tools (Looker preferably, Superset, Tableau)

→ Strong presentation skills - ability to explain complex findings, clear, confident, no jargon, no death by slides

NICE TO HAVE:

→ Master's degree in a data-related field (Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, or similar)

→ Experience in ride-hailing, logistics, or any two-sided marketplace

→ Track record rolling out org-wide AI tools (Claude, Gemini, Copilot) and handling the change management that comes with it

→ Background in data lineage or metadata management
