Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests
- Diagnose vision conditions and eye disorders
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and vision therapy when necessary
- Detect signs of ocular diseases and refer patients to specialists as needed
- Educate patients on eye care, preventive measures, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Assist in selecting appropriate eyewear solutions
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for patient management
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry degree or equivalent
- Valid Optometrist license to practice
- Proven experience in clinical or retail optometry is an advantage
- Strong diagnostic and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and patient care abilities
- Knowledge of modern optometric equipment and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Experience with contact lens fitting
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Sales/customer service experience is a plus for retail clinics
