Optical Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician supports the Optometrist in  creating and fabricating prescription eyewear.  This role is responsible for interpreting prescription orders,  cutting and shaping lenses to fit frames, assembling and adjusting eyewear, and performing quality checks to ensure accuracy and high-quality output that meets patient needs.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of related work experience in retail/optical clinic
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Willing to work in shifting schedules and a retail environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain optical lab equipment, such as lens grinders, edgers, and polishers.

• Assemble eyeglasses, including mounting lenses and adjusting frames for proper fit.

• Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

• Maintain organized and clean workspaces and follow safety protocols.

• Keep accurate records of orders, inventory, and production processes.

• Provide customer support and assist the sales team when needed.

• Make precise adjustments to frames to ensure comfort, style, and accuracy.
