Director of HR Operations - Remote

This is a dual-facing role. You will drive internal HR operations for Flexihire Talent while also delivering hands-on HR support directly to our North American clients. You report to the CEO and serve as a senior resource for our HR Generalist and Recruitment teams. You are not here to maintain. You are here to build.

We are growing our internal team and looking for a seasoned HR professional to help us scale with structure, consistency, and excellence.

As a growing startup, we need someone who can contribute from day one. This role requires proven experience. We are not able to train candidates new to this function, so we can only consider applicants who already have the skills and track record outlined below.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage HR SOPs, policies, and employment documentation for internal and client use
• Serve as a senior HR partner on client accounts, advising on employment standards, employee relations, terminations, PIPs, and compliance
• Draft and review HR documents that reflect Canadian and US employment law
• Support recruitment and help build the team
• Coach and support the HR Generalist and Recruitment teams day-to-day
• Design and deliver onboarding and training programs for internal staff
• Act as the go-to escalation point for complex or sensitive HR situations
• Lead continuous improvement of HR processes and workflows
• Support the CEO on organizational planning and workforce decisions

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of HR experience across the full employee lifecycle
• Minimum 5 years in a senior HR generalist, manager, or director role
• Solid, working knowledge of North American employment standards, Canada and/or US. This is non-negotiable
• Proven ability to write SOPs, policies, and employment documents that hold up to legal scrutiny
• Track record of coaching or leading HR teams
• Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as Rippling, BambooHR, ADP, Gusto, or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in HR consulting, outsourcing, or multi-client environments strongly preferred
• CPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or equivalent designation

Working Conditions / Location
This role is fully remote, with Eastern Standard Time (EST) 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. You will need a stable, high-speed internet connection and a reliable remote work setup to support our North American clients.
