Endoscopy Nurse

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Must be a licensed Nurse with years of experience.
• Experience as an Endoscopic Nurse is required.
• Willing to be assigned to BGC Branch.

Job Responsibilities (LASIK):

• Obtains comprehensive relevant patient data through: (a) interview; (b) correct obtainment of vital signs, which include pain; (c) The use of advanced assessment techniques that is focused or systems approach; (d) correct interpretation of data obtained from monitoring equipment; and (e) correct interpretation of diagnostic results.
• Assist gastroenterologist before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
• Prepare patients by verifying medical history, obtaining vital signs, and explaining the procedure.
• Ensure informed consent and pre-procedure requirements are completed.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as ordered by the physician.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and condition throughout the procedure and respond to any emergencies.
• Prepare, operate, clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopic equipment and accessories.
• Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
• Document patient assessments, medications, procedures, and post-procedure observations accurately.
• Provide post-procedure monitoring, discharge instructions, and patient education.
• Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain adequate inventory of endoscopy supplies and report equipment issues when necessary.
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned by management.
