Accounting Supervisor - Accounts Payable

The Accounting Supervisor – Accounts Payable will oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring the accurate recording, verification, processing, and timely settlement of company obligations. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, supervisory capabilities, and experience in managing vendor payments and payables controls.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payment preparation, and vendor account monitoring.
Review invoices, purchase orders, delivery receipts, billing statements, and other supporting documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Ensure that transactions are properly recorded, classified, and supported by appropriate documentation.
Monitor payment schedules and ensure timely settlement of supplier obligations in accordance with approved terms.
Review accounts payable aging reports and investigate discrepancies or overdue balances.
Coordinate with procurement, operations, suppliers, and other departments to resolve invoice and payment concerns.
Oversee vendor statement reconciliations and accounts payable subsidiary ledger reconciliations.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and account analysis.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control procedures.
Supervise and guide accounting personnel handling payables and recommend improvements to workflows and controls.
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related accounting field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage.
At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with significant exposure to accounts payable.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, vendor reconciliations, tax documentation, and payment controls.
Familiarity with Philippine tax requirements, including applicable withholding taxes and BIR documentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software or ERP systems.
Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
