A retail assistant supports the daily operations of a retail store by providing excellent customer service, assisting with sales, and ensuring the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked. They play a key role in creating a positive shopping experience for customers.
- Help customers locate products and make purchasing decisions.
- Promote store promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs.
- Process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
- Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service (advantageous but not essential).
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems or willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of sales techniques and the ability to upsell or cross-sell.
- Confidence in promoting products, discounts, and loyalty programs.
