Staff Accountant (Independent Contractor - Night Shift, Philippines)

CAGs & Co is partnering with a U.S.-based company seeking to hire an experienced Staff Accountant based in the Philippines to work as an independent contractor during night shift hours (aligned with U.S. business hours). Reporting to the Controller, this role will maintain general ledger entries, perform account reconciliations, assist with financial planning and audits, prepare monthly reports, and support billing activities, including timely collections of outstanding receivables.

• Location: Philippines (100% Work from home)
• Work Set-up: Independent Contracting Position, Full Time
• Work Schedule: Night Shift - Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM CST
• Salary and benefits: Competitive monthly fee (in Philippine pesos). Negotiable based on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

This list is not exhaustive and may be updated as business needs change.

• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations; assist with monthly close processes.
• Support the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
• Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury; assist with internal audits.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure timely processing and reporting of financial information.
• Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Assist the Controller with ad-hoc tasks as needed.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances and apply cash payments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting principles preferred, but not required

Skills & Competencies

• Strong numerical accuracy and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY

• Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
• Working knowledge of GAAP is preferred, but not required.
