The Qualifications We Seek

Education & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3-5 years in analytics, insights, research, reporting, or BI roles, ideally in media, digital, subscriptions, e-commerce, or similar data-rich environments
• Hands-on experience producing dashboards, reports, and basic analyses that support decision-making
• Exposure to subscription or audience-driven businesses is desirable but not essential
• Comfortable working with large datasets; able to structure questions, select appropriate cuts of data, and spot patterns, trends, and anomalies
• Able to turn numbers into simple charts, tables, and narratives that non-technical stakeholders can understand
• Strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and data quality; able to manage multiple requests and deliver to agreed timelines
• Keen to understand why patterns are occurring and how they connect to product, editorial, and commercial decisions
• Comfortable with SQL/BigQuery (or equivalent) for data extraction and joins, or willingness to quickly build this capability
• Experience with BI / dashboard tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI or similar)
• Familiarity with web/app analytics platforms and core digital metrics (sessions, pageviews, funnels, retention)

Your Daily Tasks

Audience & Subscription Analysis

• Extract, prepare and analyse data on audience reach, engagement, acquisition, retention and churn across brands and channels
• Support the development and maintenance of audience and subscriber segmentations (e.g. lifecycle, value, engagement, content needs)
• Combine data from multiple sources (web/app analytics, subscriber systems, dashboards, tests) to answer specific business questions

Reporting & Dashboards

• Build and maintain regular reports and self-serve dashboards for editorial, product, growth and retention teams
• Ensure that dashboards are accurate, consistent and easy to interpret, with clear definitions and commentary where needed
• Monitor key KPIs (e.g. DAUs, conversion, trial performance, churn, engagement) and highlight changes, risks and opportunities

Insight & Storytelling

• Translate analysis into simple, visual summaries (slides, one-pagers, charts) that clearly explain "what happened, why, and what we should do"
• Contribute to brand and portfolio performance updates, including monthly or quarterly packs
• Help prepare materials for stakeholder meetings, workshops and presentations

Experimentation Support

• Work with the Manager Audience Insights and Experimentation team to set up, track and analyse tests (paywall, offers, content treatments, messaging, channels)
• Ensure test results are captured, quality checked and clearly documented, with recommendations for next steps
• Help build a library of learnings from experiments and pilots

Ways of Working & Continuous Improvement

• Follow agreed data quality, documentation and governance practices for queries, reports and dashboards
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring analysis and reporting to free up time for deeper insight work
• Contribute ideas to improve processes, definitions and tooling across the Audience Insights and wider data community

• Quality and reliability of reports, dashboards, and analyses delivered
• Use and adoption of insights and dashboards by stakeholder teams
• Contribution to improvements in audience and subscriber KPIs (where analysis or recommendations informed decisions)
• Timeliness and responsiveness to agreed priorities and deadlines
• Stakeholder feedback on clarity, usefulness, and collaboration
