Cost Control Engineer

The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling the operational and project costs of the mining operation. This role ensures that expenditures are aligned with approved budgets and that cost variances are identified and addressed. Working closely with operations, procurement, and finance teams, the Cost Control Engineer provides accurate and timely cost reports that support decision-making and project planning.

Responsibilities:

·Prepares and updates cost monitoring reports for projects and operations.

·Tracks actual costs against budgets and forecasts variances.

·Reviews purchase requests, job orders, and material usage reports for cost implications.

·Coordinates with Operations, Procurement, and Accounting for cost validation and accruals.

·Generates cost performance and productivity analysis for management review.

·Assists in budget preparation and project cost estimation.

·Monitors financial progress of specific work packages or contracts.

Ensures all cost documentation is accurate, complete, and properly filed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or Accountancy.
• At least 3–5 years’ experience in cost monitoring, project control, or related work in mining or construction.
• Proficient in cost control systems and MS Excel / ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tools.
• Knowledgeable in project budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Familiar with mining cost structures (fuel, labor, equipment, materials).
• Analytical and organized.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
• Maintains integrity and accuracy in reporting.
• Can work under pressure with minimal supervision.
