Job Summary

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of Paluto Seafood Grill and Restaurant, ensuring efficient daily operations, excellent customer service, food quality, staff productivity, and profitability. The role involves managing restaurant personnel, monitoring inventory and costs, implementing operational standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The Restaurant Manager must demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to maintain a productive team and deliver an excellent dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Restaurant Operations

• Oversee and supervise daily restaurant operations.
• Ensure smooth coordination between the kitchen, dining, cashiering, and service teams.
• Monitor food preparation, presentation, and service quality.
• Ensure compliance with restaurant policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards.

2. People Management

• Supervise, train, and evaluate restaurant employees.
• Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate manpower.
• Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, and performance.
• Address employee concerns and enforce workplace policies and discipline.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and professionalism among staff.

3. Customer Service

• Ensure excellent customer service and dining experience.
• Handle customer complaints, concerns, and special requests professionally.
• Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements.
• Ensure timely and accurate service, particularly during peak operating hours.

4. Inventory and Cost Control

• Monitor inventory of seafood, food supplies, beverages, and other restaurant materials.
• Ensure proper receiving, storage, and handling of ingredients.
• Monitor food wastage, portion control, and operating expenses.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate replenishment of supplies.
• Help prevent losses, pilferage, and unnecessary expenses.

5. Financial and Sales Management

• Monitor daily sales, cash transactions, and restaurant performance.
• Ensure proper handling and reconciliation of cash and sales reports.
• Monitor sales targets and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
• Prepare and submit operational and financial reports to management.
• Recommend strategies to improve restaurant profitability.

6. Compliance and Safety

• Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
• Ensure proper maintenance of restaurant equipment and facilities.
• Implement measures to prevent workplace accidents and food contamination.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and government regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in restaurant or food service management.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, inventory management, and cost control.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

The Restaurant Manager will be evaluated based on the following:
