- Tax Filing & Preparation: Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, or organizations, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to relevant tax authorities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and requirements at the federal, state, and local levels, and ensure the organization complies with these laws.
- Tax Planning & Strategy: Advise clients or internal stakeholders on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring that all necessary documentation and explanations are provided to support tax filings.
- Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of tax filings, communications with tax authorities, and supporting documents, and prepare reports as needed for management or auditors.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct tax research to interpret complex regulations, resolve tax issues, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, EA) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in tax compliance, tax preparation, or accounting. Experience with tax software and knowledge of accounting principles is beneficial.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Intuit ProConnect, Thomson Reuters).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex tax information to non-experts.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
