- Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly service.
- Scan and process purchases accurately using a cash register or POS system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, and digital payment transactions securely.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
- Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and report any discrepancies.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and general questions.
- Bag or package purchases carefully.
- Keep the checkout area clean and organized.
- Follow company policies on pricing, promotions, and security.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
- Experience: Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus but not always necessary.
- Skills:
- Strong math and cash-handling skills.
- Basic computer and POS system knowledge.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
