Digital In-Store Specialist

As the  Digital In-Store Specialist , you will manage a fast-paced fulfillment operation, overseeing the entire process from order picking and packing to shipping preparation. Your primary goal is to optimize efficiency and reduce costs while proactively mitigating risks to ensure precise, high-quality order fulfillment. Beyond logistics, you are responsible for driving the adoption of digital tools like the Decathlon Shopping App and digital kiosks within the physical store environment. You will collaborate closely with e-commerce, customer service, and sales teams to integrate these digital solutions into store layouts and sales strategies. By monitoring tool performance and team coordination, you ensure a seamless omnichannel experience for both staff and customers. Ultimately, your role bridges the gap between digital innovation and retail execution to maximize overall store effectiveness.

1. ORDER MANAGEMENT

You execute a standard "Ship from Store" operation process for online orders received. This would include:

A. Order Picking

• Verifying order accuracy, including product details, quantities, pricing, discounts, shipping information, and customer data.
• Locating Products -  Navigating the store layout to identify and retrieve specific products based on product numbers or descriptions, closely coordinating with Store Team
• Accurate Selection -  Carefully selecting the correct items in the specified quantities, ensuring product integrity (no damage, correct size, color, etc.).
• Quality Check - Briefly inspecting items for any obvious damage or defects before picking.

B. Order Packing

• Packaging - Selecting appropriate packaging materials (boxes, poly bags, envelopes, padded mailers) based on product size, fragility, and order volume.
• Secured & Sealed Packaging - providing a delightful unboxing experience that enhances customer satisfaction and encourages repeat purchases. 
• Labeling & Staging - Double-checking labels against order information to prevent mis-shipments

C. Handover to Courier

• Final Verification (Shipping Manifest) - Collaborating with the shipping lead or supervisor to verify that the packed orders match the courier's manifest for the day, confirming package count and destination details.
• Physical Handover - Assisting the courier personnel (e.g., delivery riders, truck drivers) with the physical handover of packages, ensuring all items are scanned out by the courier and loaded safely onto their vehicles. This may involve confirming parcel counts.
• Documentation Handover - Ensuring proper sign-off or digital confirmation of parcel handover to the courier, if required by company or courier protocol.
• Ensure and improve a smooth operations flow between internal and external teams
• Ensure all orders are well tracked in the provided order journey from picking, packing, and hand over.

2. FULFILLMENT LEAD TIME OPTIMIZATION

• Track and analyze the time it takes from when an order is received to when it’s ready for shipment, looking for ways to shorten this period without compromising accuracy or quality.
• Eliminate bottlenecks in the process (anomalies) and ensure we meet our targets for speed and efficiency.
• Collaborate with inventory teams, business teams, and customer enlightenment to ensure availability and optimize processes like picking, packing, and order management.

3. ANOMALY MANAGEMENT

• Take the lead in investigating significant anomalies identified in fulfillment operations.
• Work closely with the store team and other departments (e.g., IT for system issues, Customer Service for customer complaints, Procurement for vendor issues, Finance for cost anomalies) to conduct thorough root cause analysis.
• Direct and oversee the implementation of immediate corrective actions to mitigate the impact of anomalies

4. DIGITAL STORE ASSISTED ORDERS

• Build Store-Assisted Strategy together with the Store Leader, CSEL, and Store Operations Manager to boost Store-Assisted Orders in my catchment area
• Implement the validated strategy in my store and oversee teammates' adoption into their customer service & sales practices.
• Track, Measure, and Improve overall Store-Assisted Orders in my store
• Work closely with Digital Business Team in implementing and improving the Store-Assisted Business
• Train the Store teammates in all the tools needed Digitally (e.g. Click and Collect and App)

What You Need to Succeed:

• Sportive! You are passionate about sports and practice it regularly
• You have a successful experience in e-commerce/ logistics/ delivery or have a strong interest in it
• You are excellent in Flows Management with a proven low shrinkage performance
• You have good analytical and organizational skills
• Great communicator!  You can converse comfortably in both English & Filipino
• Flexible! you are ready to work during the weekend as needed (offset rest day setup)
• Responsible!  You are dynamic and highly responsible, and creative enough to solve all kinds of digital problems that may arise
