Dental Technician (Ceramist)

Job Description:

• Fabricate ceramic dental restorations, including crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, onlays, and implant-supported restorations.
• Layer, contour, stain, glaze, and polish ceramic restorations to achieve natural aesthetics.
• Match restoration shades and translucency to patients' natural dentition using shade guides and digital technologies.
• Read and interpret dental prescriptions, impressions, digital scans, and laboratory work orders.
• Operate CAD/CAM systems, milling machines, porcelain furnaces, and other laboratory equipment.
• Inspect restorations for fit, occlusion, function, and aesthetics before final delivery.
• Make adjustments, repairs, and modifications to restorations as required.
• Collaborate with dentists and laboratory technicians to achieve optimal restorative outcomes.
• Maintain quality control standards throughout the fabrication process.
• Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate case documentation and production records.
• Organize and prioritize laboratory cases to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
• Monitor inventory of ceramic materials, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the laboratory.
• Follow infection prevention, occupational safety, and quality assurance procedures.
• Stay updated on advancements in dental materials, digital workflows, and ceramic fabrication techniques.
• Participate in continuing education and laboratory training programs.
• Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and recommending process improvements.
• Mentor and support junior laboratory personnel when assigned.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager or supervising Dentist.
